The Mustang FR500S is a unique racecar, produced on the same Flat Rock, Michigan assembly line as the street-legal Ford Mustang, Mustang GT, and Shelby GT500. The 4.6L 3V V8 powerplant in the FR500S is identical to the one in the 2005-2010 Mustang GT, modified with parts right out of the Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog including 3.73:1 gears, cold air intake, 6-speed transmission, short-throw shifter, headers, X-pipe, shocks, struts, springs, strut tower brace, and caster/camber plates. The FR500S makes 325 horsepower, corners like it's on rails, stops on a dime, and growls like a classic American muscle machine.
